Learn to Skate Cincinnati offers a variety of programming. Classes for all ages and abilities are offered in recreational and competitive skating as well as beginning skating for hockey. We use the Skate with US program designed by United States Figure Skating to aid in learning and skating enjoyment. Classes are generally taught in 7 week sessions. Beginner classes are 30 minutes in length and intermediate to advanced classes (Basic 2 and above) are 45 minutes in length.
Our coaching staff is the best trained in the area, and the majority of the coaches are Professional Skating Instructors on a full-time basis and well as members of the Professional Skaters Association. Our program boasts the most coaches who can demonstrate the moves they teach, which is an instruction quality key factor. Skate rental is available, but do remember to wear warm layered clothing, gloves or mittens and a bike helmet if your skaters is age 5 or under. In addition to group lessons LTS Cincinnati offers week long skating camps, bridge programs, private lessons, competitions, a winter ice show and more. Come join the fun!!
Want to be a figure skater? Learn to Skate Cincinnati offers all levels of the USFS Basic Skills Program. We are not owned by any rink. We skate primarily at Northland Ice Center, but may utilize other ice as well. Our coaches are the highest level figure skaters in Cincinnati. We are the only program with coaches who can actually demonstrate moves, which is critical to figure skating skill acquisition.
We offer an elite Hockey Developmental Program for beginning players and have worked to unite the hockey community by forming ONE. We work with our local hockey association and assist all of our families with exploring the options which fit their best interests. We have aligned our Power Skating Skills with USA Hockey American Developmental Model to give our players an opportunity to advance their individual skills in preparation for league play. We encourage players to play other sports to create a well rounded athlete.
Our philosophy is to teach the players and the parent volunteer coaches the correct way to execute hockey skating and puck skills through repetitive motion and touches of the puck. This model of teaching creates muscle memory and instinct in your player. Practicing the right way is how players will be able to enjoy the game at their highest potential. After all, you can’t enjoy playing hockey if you can’t skate, and the best players are always the best skaters. Come see why we continue to be the local leader in developmental programs.
